I am experiencing an issue with the application link between my Jira and Confluence instances running in Docker containers. Previously, everything was working fine in the past, but now I'm encountering the following error in Jira:

No remote application link

We can't connect with Confluence because a reciprocal application link is missing on that server. You'll need to delete and then re-create this application link.

Steps Taken:

  1. Checked network connectivity between Jira and Confluence containers.
  2. Verified application link configuration in Jira and Confluence settings.
  3. Recreated the application link after deleting the existing one.
  4. Ensured both Docker containers are on the same network.
  5. Reviewed logs for both containers, but no clear indication of the issue.

Additional Information:

  • Both containers were working fine before, and there were no recent changes to the configurations.
  • Docker Compose is used, and both services are on the same network.

Any insights or suggestions on resolving this application link issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

Have you confirmed if Jira and Confluence are reaching each other? You can test this using something like "curl." I know it's obvious, but I've seen people struggling because the URL has a typo. Double-check that too. Also, have you created the link on both sides? Otherwise, the logs are where you will certainly find an indication of why you're getting the error.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Could you go to Confluence and check the application link from that end?
