Hello All
I recently installed Jira server 7.12 on Linux aws (ubuntu 16.04 based)
After many settings and struggling, everything worked fine.
I imported my project from Jira cloud instance.
However, recently I found this error that happens when I try to type something in the assignee field of the story (when the request to get assignee names is sent to the server).
Funny fact, this error does not happen always. It happens only for specific searches (when I type specific letters).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I had the same problem:
When I type a user as assignee starting with letter "T", I got the error message.
1.Run the following SQL query.
SELECT lower_user_name FROM cwd_user WHERE lower_user_name NOT IN ( SELECT lower_user_name FROM app_user );
If it does return any usernames, run the following query against the usernames returned.
SELECT * FROM app_user WHERE lower_user_name = '<username_identified>' OR user_key = '<username_identified>';
Oh Awesome!
Thanks very much, that solved my problem.
I think what you meant with the second query is to remove the extra user from cwd_users, or to add it to app_users.
I actually manually added a user to cwd_users but not to app_users.. and apparently this database inconsistency was causing the issue.
Removing it from cwd_users solved my issue.
However, it was a nice catch by you.
Thanks again
