Hi all! I recently started messing around with categories with JIRA team-level projects and within the list view you can create / delete categories with ease.
The problem however lies in that when you delete a category and then group your project list BY category, it still displays previously deleted categories!
Has anyone else encountered this?
- I've confirmed no tickets are in this category, you can't even add tickets to these categories as these don't exist in the category maintenance view.
This is very frustrating and confusing so any help would be appreciated!
(Image 1 contains the only two available categories in the project, Order reception, and punchout)
(image 2 contains all the categories that get displayed when you choose "group by" and "category")
We are experiencing this issue as well. The bug that David referred to above appears to have been CLOSED, but there is no fix.

FYI, this has been reported also by others - see e.g. this thread - so it indeed seems like a recent change. You may want to reach out to Atlassian Support about it.
