Has anyone experienced Jira performance issues with the third party testing add-ons?

Our organization is researching potential new test management suites to integrate with Jira and we're comparing full management suites to Jira add-ons, specifically Xray.  Some anecdotal evidence I have seen indicates that there can be performance issues, specifically out of memory errors, with the addition of these testing add-ons to the Jira instance.  I've seen the Atlassian Confluence page that lists the known issues with third-party apps and it looks like some of the out of memory issues have been fixed with Xray, but I'd like to understand that a little more.

Has anyone experienced issues like this?

If so, how did your organization work around those?
