Has anyone had an issue with JQL referencing a filter that uses 'Issuekey'

Liam Melvein May 19, 2025

Hi there all

A bit of a strange one

I have two filters

1) A filter that references a list of issue keys
2) A second filter that excludes filter one via AND (NOT Filter in X)

Whilst filter 2 does indeed exclude all items in one it also removes a whole load of other items, which is strange as it should only look to remove the items in 1.

Has anyone had any similar issue?

Hi @Liam Melvein , can you share your filters?

Hi Jack,

Many thanks for reaching out.

I was able to resolve the issue yesterday. I noticed that the only data left in my list contained a sprint value. Despite my line in the JQL not referencing the sprint in the slightest (nor directly copying the code from my reference filter in removing these) by adjusting the logic it worked.

Still dont understand how it fixed it but its fixed.

Thanks
