Dear folks,
I have a question that might sound silly.
A different department in my company registered a Jira account utilizing our domain and created an instance.
I'm trying to create an instance for my team, but when I register with my e-mail account, it says that there's an existing team linked to the domain and puts me on their team. I cannot create a new one.
Is there a way to create a new instance utilizing the same domain address?
Best,
Carlos
I'm guessing this question is about user management, where someone has configured that they manage all users with a particular email domain. Does that sound correct? As described in https://www.atlassian.com/software/access/guide/organizations-domain-claim
It is still possible to create multiple Jira instances, and invite certain people to one instance, and certain people to another instance. You may find that your organization already registered a billing contact for that domain, and so you need to ask that person to set up the instance for you.
Through user management you could create different groups to represent people's membership of different divisions in your company, and then use these groups to grant access to different Jira instances.
Another option is to grant people visibility of the existing Jira instance, and simply create projects on that instance. You could use groups to define who can see which projects, if you need to keep access separate.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
