I recently invited a user but made a typing error in the user's email address. I removed the user then tempted to invite the user again (correct email address). Still getting message "Unable to invite deactivated accounts." User does not appear in the Users list. Left it overnight and tried inviting again today. Same result. Any thoughts? Free Jira, have not exceeded user limit.
Hi @Colin Disley welcome to the community. I had a similar issue, and noticed that by default, the Suspended users don't show up in the user list. You may want change the filter and see if that might be it. The other challenge that I had was some users were created/added as Atlassian User accounts, not Portal Only. There are two different lists of users. Could it be possible they are created as the other type of user than you are looking at?
I couldn't create a Portal User because they were still setup as an Atlassian Account user. Once I deleted that, then I was able to create them as Portal-Only.
Hope that helps.
Hi @Dan Breyen thanks so much for the quick response. Yes I was aware of the filter. The user was not visible, even with filter removed. Also no evidence of user being an Atlassian Account user. Interestingly, another team member raised a request for this new user to join and it came to me as admin for review/acceptance. The user then reappeared in the user list, not as Intived but as Deactivated. Unfortunately there was no function enabled to reactivate the account, only to suspend or remove. I removed it again and am now back where I started... I'll keep chipping away. Now wondering what might happen if I try to restore the Jira site to a new "test" site. I'll try that as soon as I have time. Will let you know how that turns out.
