I am relatively new to Jira. My prior company used it extensively, but I mainly viewed pages. I am with a new company using it as well and I need to learn to actually use it. I know Atlassian has tutorials and I'll be reviewing those.
For this question, I notice when I visit an existing page my company has created, there is a set of circular icons for 'People' near the top. On my photo, on one of the pages was a stack of 3 horizontal lines. I figured out that this was the symbol for 'filter'. Does that mean that the page was showing ONLY items for which I am somehow associated?
I went to another page an my circular icon has a large capital 'S' on it. Where can I find a list of such symbols and their meanings?
The S on the icon of my name is what I'm asking about. On another page, there were 3 horizontal lines of decreasing size. I 'think', the S means this page was 'shared' with me, and I assume that means I don't have editing rights, only viewing rights (unless the owner granted them). I think the vertical lines are for some sort of Filter, but it is a toggle, so I don't know what the filter would be doing, other than perhaps only showing me items to which I have been assigned, or which I am watching.
Thanks,
Scott

Hi @Scott Sutherland , it seems you are referring to Confluence maybe rather than Jira. But screenshots would really help here.
