Hi
We have a number of projects that are no longer in use, and the /BrowseProjects area on our Jira instance is quite cluttered as a result.
We've archived the projects in question and created a new permission scheme for Archived Projects (so we can access them at a later date if needed), however the projects are still listed in /BrowseProjects when archived.
Is there a way these can be hidden so only Active projects are listed?
Hi,
Just wanted to check on this one again - are there any solutions to ensure that projects are hidden from the /BrowseProjects page if you don't have the permissions to view them?
Thanks,
Emily
Hi,
Is there any further feedback on this? Currently, we have several projects we wish to hide visibility of in /BrowseProjects. If there is an alternative solution to archiving projects than the one above (using a permission scheme), I'd appreciate it if this could be shared.
Thanks,
Emily

Is it visible to all users or just JIRA admins? Another post said in the latest version projects are still showing for admins even when they aren't in the admin screen to manage projects.

Yep, I do confirm this behavior! I have an Archive permission scheme as well (without Browse project permission) and archived projects show up in the regular search because I'm an admin.

Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, this isn't ideal for us as the users who need to access this area are all set to be admins. We only need to see 'active' projects and not 'archived' in this list.
Are there any alternatives?
Thanks,
Emily

If you remove the Browse Project permission the project should be removed. It will be only visible from the list of projects from the admin menu.

Thanks for the quick feedback Mirek. I've removed the Browse Project permission from the new Archived Projects permission scheme (which is associated with the projects I want to hide), but it's still showing up in the BrowseProjects list unfortunately.
Is there anything else I can try?

Just to clarify.. You see those projects from the admin menu or from the user perspective (Project menu). Could you please paste a screenshot?
You can try also use a permission scheme with all permissions empty and associate it with a project.
