I created a new JIRA project and attached a repo that someone had mistakenly mis-categorized.  I now need to remove this one repo from being linked to the JIRA project.  I can't seem to find a menu for doing this.

This is a company managed project.

Thanks in advanced for any help.

Hi Brett,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

In Jira Cloud, when a Bitbucket Cloud repository is linked to a Jira project, the integration is typically managed via the DVCS accounts page or via the repository settings in Bitbucket Cloud. Unfortunately, there isn't a direct "unlink" button in the Jira project UI to remove a specific repository. Here's how you can unlink the repository:

Steps to Remove a Linked Bitbucket Repository

  1. Check DVCS Accounts in Jira:

    • Go to Jira SettingsProductsDVCS Accounts.
    • Locate the Bitbucket account that is linked to the Jira project.
    • Click on the linked repositories to view all repositories integrated with Jira.
    • Unlink the specific repository:
      • If there’s an option to disconnect the repository, select it.
      • Otherwise, unlinking may require removing the repository's specific configuration from Bitbucket itself.
  2. Check the Repository Configuration in Bitbucket:

    • Go to Bitbucket SettingsRepositories.
    • Navigate to the specific repository that was mistakenly linked.
    • Look for Jira Links or Integrations under the repository settings.
    • Remove or disable the link to the Jira project.
  3. Disconnect via Jira Project Settings (if available):

    • Go to the Jira project where the repository is linked.
    • Navigate to Project SettingsIntegrationsBitbucket.
    • If the repository is listed, there might be an option to remove it.
  4. Disable Automatic Linking (Optional):

    • Ensure that automatic linking of repositories doesn’t re-link the repo:
      • In DVCS Accounts, configure the settings to restrict automatic linking by removing permissions for the repository.
