Hello Friends,
We are supporting a enterprise DC customer with 5 nodes cluster and it's been a struggle with backbone sync so far , there are multiple issues we encounter on daily basis . Syncs fail randomly , even when some sync shows they are running actual sync is not happening. Our business users are very unhappy and operations team is having field day supporting them. Backbone sync support has mostly been very unhelpful so we are looking for alternative approaches to achieve this function.
I am hopeful that I will be able to get some inputs from community to overcome this challenge. What are you guys using to sync issues from one project to other for enterprise scale customer with success .
We are open to develop utility as fallback to backbone as and when it fails. Any inputs on that front will be helpful as well.
Hoping to get some valuable inputs to resolve this issue for our business users as it's been a struggle for over a year now .
I've had the most success with issue synchronisation at scale with Backbone - maybe you should look into fixing the problems you're having with that. If you're determined to change though, then the one that is only very slightly lower on the list is definitely Exalate. I only recommend Backbone over Exalate because I've worked with it (and K15t's people) more than I have with Exalate
Thank you for your inputs.
We did our best to fix the issues but it has become a chronic issue. We did try to work woth k15t support and requested to come on the calls to see the issues real-time but seems they are not very keen on providing support , may be they are understaffed. Their responses are usually delayed and not so useful.
We are looking at Exalate as well , let see how it goes.

Hi @Vishwajeet Singh ,
Liset here, part of the Backbone team. I’m sorry to hear about your experience with Backbone and our support. This is of course not the experience we want to provide. We have written you back on your ticket. Everyone on our side is eager to find a solution so I hope you are still willing to find that as well - we can communicate over further possibilities on how to tackle this over the support ticket if you wish.
Cheers,
Liset

Hi Liset ,
Thank you for your response here.
We are more than open to work with your team. I have always recommended Backbone to my customers in past.
This customer has tasked me to bring an end to their woes with Backbone. It has become embarrassing for them in front of their internal stakeholders.
Let me review your response and comeback to you on the ticket. Desperately need support from you guys on this.

Hi @Vishwajeet Singh ,
Did you check if there are any other add-ons in the Atlassian Marketplace to assist with Jira migration or sync?: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=issue%20sync%20Jira%20to%20Jira
Also, these articles seem related to your use case:

Hi @Carlos Garcia Navarro , Thank you for your quick response.
Yes I am aware of all the options available on marketplace, what I am look at some first hand experiences with any of those before we get into next steps of planning to replace.
I am aware of exlate and other Add-ons but what I am look for experiences from folks who have been successful at enterprise scale . Before I go ahead and suggest alternatives.

I read through the thread and understand that you were not able to get a fully working integration so far. I am a pre-sales engineer @ Exalate and would like the opportunity to engage with yourself to see if we can resolve the issues you are facing.
As you are already aware of our product and are also at an advanced stage of the integration anyway, I believe the next logical step would be to book a quick demo with us where we can discuss the use-case in detail and determine if Exalate is a good fit for you.
Thanks
Syed
