How can I add and/or edit an estimate for a kanban project issue in the quick view?

In the quick view, i.e. the pane that shows up on the right when you select an issue in the kanban backlog or kanban board, does not have any time tracking fields.

However, when I edit the issue in full screen mode (i.e. click edit), I am able to update the original estimate and remaining estimate.

Ultimately, I want to see these fields in the quick view, i.e. when you select an issue in the kanban backlog OR kanban board , and a slim version of the issue details appear on the right.

I must be missing something simple, but field configuration is super confusing in JIRA.  It's almost too configurable.

Any help would be appreciated.

JIRA does not currently have a means to do this in a Kanban board.   There is a feature request for this over at https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWSERVER-6254

However time tracking and estimations are not as important to the kanban ideals as they are inside of a scrum agile method.   I think that from reading over Atlassian's view of this in https://www.atlassian.com/agile/kanban  it might help to explain why JIRA is set that way.

From reviewing other customers with this same concern, such as https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Atlassian-Marketplace-questions/Add-the-field-Original-Estimate-in-my-Kanban-List-View-to-the/qaq-p/339904 it does appear that Scrum boards are designed to allow this estimate here, but kanban boards do not.
