I'm an admin for Jira at my company and deleted some projects we used for templates (so that if a certain type of project was selected it'd provide certain issue type screen schemes, workflows, etc.) thinking that the template was at the scheme level rather than the project level. I've recreated the projects we were using, but I'm not sure how to assign these projects to the templates we have.
For context, the templates (Scrum & Kanban) are still out there, but the settings no longer apply when we create a new project. How can I resolve this?
Hi Krista
You can't assign projects to templates as such. When you create a project, you will need to select the Create with shared configuration option, on the Create Project screen.
Your new project will then share the scheme configurations, but not the versions, components or project roles of your original project.
Hope that helps
