How can I assign an issue to a future sprint?

My org's version of JIRA(v9.12.24) does not appear to allow you create a sprint other than the current sprint.

In our sprint planning we want to do  associate issues with the next sprint which has not begun yet.

Hi, @Barry Morrow

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

The button for creating a new Sprint is located in the Backlog tab. You can find it in the header section, above the list of issues in the backlog.

If you don't have such button, or it's not active - you need to check your permissions. Maybe you have insufficient permissions to plan Sprints.

Hey @Barry Morrow

In addition to the responses by @Evgenii and @Sanam Malleswari , if your board filter contains multiple projects, you would need to verify permissions on all those projects.

Thanks!
