When I click attach I see my Google Drive. But when I browse, all native Google file types are missing. I can only see DOC, XLS, PDF etc. No GDocs, GSheets etc.
Not an oversight just a common way of releasing new functions which is not specific to Atlassian.
A software manufacturer generally knows what specific function is commonly used. So when designing the new interface they start with what is used mostly and give the possibility to switch back to old interface until the time when people are generally happy with both form and function.
If they were to do everything at once, and then everyone hated it, then that would be a major investment down the drain and cause major issues.
I am sure it will be added to the new issue view eventually, at least I will not use the new view until that happens :-)

Well google files are not really files since they are online links? Or do you mean that you want to attach open document format (ODT), then please attach any error because i have no issues with attaching whatever i want.
If you want to add the online documents without cost you can use the link function, just use web link and copy the full adress.
If you want them to display in some way then you need a plugin for it and then it will cost you.

There is no web link. Under the "issue view" (new) there is a paper clip "Add attachment" that opens up a dialogue box. One option is Google Drive. When you explore that, you cannot see any native Google files.
You can also select "Browse" and find the G Doc or G Sheet. But when you upload it, it uploads in some strange format. The attachment in the JIRA issue is clickable, but takes you nowhere. It just gives you an error message in code.

If you are working in cloud with new issue view, press "See the old view" then press the ... sign and then choose "Link", there you will find web link.

Thank you. So does that mean under New Issue View there is no way to link G Docs and G Sheets files, even if you have done the integration with G Drive? Sounds like a major oversight on Atlassian's part if that's true?
