How can I automate to create an issue with a parent child relationship - that shows as a child issue

Ken Parry June 7, 2024

I created an automation to create an Epic from a higher level Initiative type, however even though I used the is Child of link the created issue does not show in the "Child Issues"  of the trigger issue. In the trigger issue I see "is Parent of" but it does not show in the Advanced Plan as a child issue.  I want to set this Parent link property  - how do I do it in automation?

@Ken Parry  could you please share the screenshot of your automation?

This is where I am trying to link - there is no option to use a "Parent Link:" filed from the calling issue.

@Ken Parry Instead of "linked issue - is child of", you can set Parent field:

Parent: Trigger issue.

 Thank you Stevan,

I was able to fix this with:

{
   "fields": {
      "Parent Link": {{triggerissue,key}}
   }
}
