Hello,
We currently use multiple Jira Projects both next gen and some not next gen. We continually create new Projects for new software initiatives.
Within each Project we have epics and stories related to epics. We will be further creating new stories related to machine learning that will be related to the initial story.
epic -> story -> story for machine learning
There may be multiple machine learning stories related to the same story. This structure will be happening across many projects. We will need a centralized way in Jira to identify these machine learning issues so that we can display them in a single view. We want individuals within many Projects to be able to identify data science opportunities and log them. We then want our data science team to be able to identify machine learning opportunities across all projects. What should we use to identify these tickets as machine learning? We do NOT want to use labels as they are free flowing text and not reliable.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Whatever method we choose to explicitly identify these issues needs to be available in all projects. They also need to be displayed within a single view. We do have a data science project, it would be great if we can get these machine learning issues into the data science backlog.
All help appreciated!
Thanks.
If the only category you want to apply and then sort by is Machine Learning, then a check-box custom field seems like would do the trick. You can include it in JQLs. Of course, the only problem I see is that you'll have to modify the corresponding schemes in each and all projects.
Hi, Chris. If you are trying to look at your hierarchy across projects, Structure for Jira will allow you to view/build hierarchical relationships anyway you choose, across projects. Structure is one of the leading Jira apps in the Atlassian Marketplace.
Full disclosure, I work for ALM Works, the makers of Structure.
Good luck,
-dave
