When I started here, I made sure there were no states in the dev workflow where you could transition an issue without entering a resolution. Per another thread, I added a To Done screen that let's the developer enter the resolution when transitioning to Done. I have issues that have the incorrect resolution - Fixed instead of Won't Do for example. Today, I can move them back to In Progress and then transition to Done, but I want to change it without a state transition, as it is not being worked on, only corrected.
Even bringing up the To Done screen manually would work.
Suggestions? Thanks.
@Ronald Smith If you have a the Script Runner add-on, there is a built-in function for bulk updating resolutions. You just need to create a filter for all the issues you wan to update and then go through the steps in the built-in script.
Thanks - looks like that will work - just added script runner for another request so I will try that too. Thanks!

Hi,
maybe you could use ScriptRunner's Bulk Fix Resolutions script, it's super easy:
https://scriptrunner.adaptavist.com/5.6.2/jira/builtin-scripts.html#_bulk_fix_resolutions
If this is one time operation, you could do it for free during trial period.

Thanks, Hana... I was unaware of it and I do have Script Runner

You have a bunch of possibilities
Another solution is to :
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Thanks - great suggestions. I appreciate it. I may add the second one in the future, but I think I will try the bulk edit below first as I do not need to create a screen. But this one is good for the future with Admin restriction. +1

I wound up doing solution 2 - works great and my boss can do it also. I could not get the one below to work as resolution is not in the edit list for bulk move.

Hi @Ronald Smith Welcome to the community!
I just did this yesterday for an issue that was done, but not resolved; bulk edit the issue, using transition and move it to the same status. As long as the status on your board has Set Resolution configured it should work.
Best regards,
Bill

How do I configure "status on your board has Set Resolution"? It is not editable today (in the edit issue screen)...

Hi Ronald,
On the Scrum or Kanban board, the Board Settings allow you to configure columns and status values for the board. Check if the right-most column on the board has the option selected to Set Resolution.
When you have only one resolution type, it will be set automatically when an issue transitions to the mapped status. Otherwise you will be prompted to select the resolution.
Best regards,
Bill
