How can I create a board that is not SCRUM or Kanban in a self hosted Jira Software?

Julian Verela Taja February 6, 2018

Are there any simple boards, like a Trello or a simple TO DO - DONE in a self hosted Jira Software?

The only options I get are SCRUM or Kanban. None of them work in a simple way, without versions, sprints, releases or anything extra.

When creating a Business project is also imposible to create a simple board for it.

We just bought Jira Software to move out from Trello, which is great since we are using SCRUM, but now it seems impossible to make a simple board for everyday simple tasks outside of the project, and having Jira and still need to use Trello doesn't seem as a correct solution for our problems.

Kanban Boards have a sub-filter. Inside of the board configuration, on the bottom, that it looks like "fixversion in unreleasedversion() OR fixversion is EMPTY", clearing that makes all the cards appear!

Thanks for the time @Jack Brickey!!!

Kanban is the simplest available and you can make it as simple as you want. You don’t need to use the release feature, just ignore.

If i select a Kanban for my Business projects (I also tried with Software projects) still my issues are not shown in the Kanban board. I'm just setting up Jira but I've been trying to follow all the guides, I'm sure it must be something small that I'm missing.

When I check the filter of the board, my issue is displayed in the result. There are no unassigned statuses in the board columns. But when I open the board, there's nothing in it!

I also deleted all the Inactive Workflow, Inactive Workflow Schemes and Statues that are not linked to any Scheme...

They will definitely show up if all is right. If the filter shows the issues then the board should. Are you cresting a new board after the project has been completed. Can you share your filter here?

Thanks for the time to answer, here is the detailed explanation. The filter is shown in the picture below...

I create a project with the "Task Management" option.
No board is created for it by default.I create a board "Board from an existing project", I select my project.

I Create a testing issue

Board is still empty

I go to Board Settings, select the Filter for the board

Go back to board, still don't see it... Even though in the filter is shown...

I check for Unmapped Statuses, nothing. But in the configuration I see "1 issue" in the TO DO.

Back to board, Nothing again...

I got to Swimlanes and put no Swimlanes just in case...

Nothing on the board still...

Project settings, workflow seems to be according to the board statuses...

So, i really don't know what else to check...

This is the board now...
