How can I create an Epic in Kanban Backlog screen without Epic panel?

Hi guys.

I'm trying to add an Epic in my Backlog screen with "+" sign (Create an issue) under the backlog list.
However it only shows Bug & Task (which I configured) issue types.

Is there any way to create an Epic in Backlog screen?

Hi Sherlock,

Are you using Cloud? If so, the + sign should work no matter where you are - in Backlog or not. Be sure you have chosen the right project and that Epic is an Issue Type for that Project (that it is in the Issue Type Scheme being used by that project).

Hi John, thanks for your anwser.

Just for clear, do you mean that plus sign in the bottom of list?
Or do you mean by the plus sign from left side bar?
I know that left side bar's plus sign is global, and I don't have any issue with it.

If I turn off the Epic panel, I can see my Epics in the backlog list.
(Although there is no Epic yet)

However I can't see the Epic when I click "Create issue" 
It only shows Task and Bug.

So, you are saying that if you click the Plus sign on the left nav bar and choose your project, then you see Epic as an Issue Type in the list?

But if you click on Create Issue inside the Backlog screen you don't see Epic in the list for the same project? 

If so, that is very strange as it works on my project. If that is is the case, you should open a support ticket with Atlassian. Sorry I can't provide more helpful information.
