Unfortunately, in Jira Cloud Standard, you cannot create sub-tasks directly using a post function in a workflow without using add-ons or custom scripts. Jira Cloud's out-of-the-box functionality for workflow post functions does not include an option to create sub-tasks.
Hi @Ramya Srinivas , Better use the Jira automation for creation a sub-task after transitioning the issue to a certain status.

If you have any additional plugins you can achieve this f.e. if you have scriptrunner there is special postfunction which can do it for you

i didn't saw that you're on cloud free tier but ithink you can do it with automation rules
