How can I do a backup or export issues?

You can export issues to Excel but this is not really a backup solution (e.g. it will not include attachments). If you are cancelling your OnDemand account, you can contact Support and request an export of your JIRA, Confluence and/or SVN data.
We are planning to implement a backup management tool that will allow customers to obtain exports of their data themselves, without involvement from Support (it's quite a long, manual process for us at the moment). We're hoping this will be ready in a number of months.
Just want to add my vote to this feature. Right now we are 100% depedant on Atlassian for backups of our critical JIRA data. I'm sure that's not a position you want to be in.
