How can I get existing BitBucket and GitHub repos into Jira Projects?

I've been working directly in BitBucket and GitHub for a while now.  I've recently signed up for Jira and I'm trying to figure out how to migrate my workflow into this system.

I've done lots of Googling and YouTubing but everything I am finding seems out-dated or just isn't working for me.  For example, I found where I can export JSON data from GitHub and then import into Jira, however, when I import I don't get any information about field mapping, and it simply says "none records imported".

I did follow the steps to connect GitHub and BitBucket to Jira through Settings -> Applications -> DVCS Accounts, and I can see all of my GitHub and BitBucket repos listed here, but I can't figure out how to relate them or convert them to actual Jira projects with all the issues, etc. pulled in.

I'm just looking for a streamlined way to get all of my current repos from the two services into the Jira workflow and it just doesn't seem to be as intuitive and simple as I expected it to be.  Any information on how I can get this working would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

So now I found this video about "GitHub to Jira in 90 seconds" and it shows in the Importer that I can specifically choose GitHub, BitBucket, or a number of other things.

When I go into that import wizard, though, all I see is CSV or JSON.  I don't have all these other options, and again, when I try JSON I don't see any field mapper or anything, so it doesn't actually import anything at all.

What am I missing?

I found this guide for exporting out of BitBucket and then importing into Jira, and it's not perfect, but we were able to make it work.

JSON export out of GitHub doesn't match the Jira format at all, though, so it's not as easy as just adjusting a few node names.

The only importing options I'm finding for GitHub are related to Server.  The Cloud doc says to ask the community, but I'm not getting any response here.

Would really appreciate some help with this.
