We are trying to group the results of  a search filter by component. Currently, we are getting the smae component name listed twice. It appears to be broken out by project.

We would like to see the component listed once, ex:

Component name : "Marketing"

Result currently shows:

Component   Done

Marketing      3 (PROJECT A)

Marketing      20 (PROJECT B)

We need the following:

Component  Done

Marketing      23

Hi @Yoselin Espinoza

This is how components work - they are project specific. This means that whilst you might have three components in different projects all with the same name, which come up with one issue search based on component name - a report or chart still treats them as three separate entries based on the component's ID rather than the wording.

It's not possible to workaround this as far as I know; you'd need to either consider using Labels or another field used across multiple projects - or perhaps use a more powerful reporting application from the Marketplace.

If it's a field value you want to apply to multiple projects, you could consider adding a custom field to house this data - such as:

  • Custom Labels field
  • Select List (multiple choices)
