Hi everyone,
I’m currently working with Jira and trying to generate reports (e.g. Excel exports) that include active Epics and show how far each Epic is in terms of progress — e.g. as a percentage of completed issues (sub-tasks).
Right now, I can export all issues using a filter, and see their statuses — but the actual progress bar or completion percentage for each Epic isn’t shown anywhere in the exported data.
Is there a way to:
•Include this progress info in the exported report (e.g. via JQL, fields, or automation)?
•Or calculate the percentage automatically inside Jira and include it in a custom field?
Appreciate any tips, plugins, or workarounds you’ve used to solve this!
Thanks 🙏

If you are fine to explore a mktplace app to view Epic progress and also export the same to a csv file , I can suggest our app
The app also allows you to view your project issue hierarchy in a tree view. The hierarchy is created based on your standard jira hierarchy or issue links or a combination of both. You can view %complete progress at each parent level. It roll ups the time tracking fields, story point or numeric fields at each parent level. The app can be added to a dashboard as well

I'm afraid that it is not possible to get this info with the Jira's default tools.
A solution would be to search on Atlassian Marketplace for a plugin that offers such functionality. If you want to try a plugin, our Great Gadgets app offers a Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget that can calculate the epics completion by percentage of tasks, or sum of story points. It works just like pivot tables in Excel.
The result can be displayed in form of table, heat-map table or charts of various types.
For how to do this, take a look here: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/App-Central-articles/How-to-display-the-progress-of-Epics-or-Initiatives-in-Jira-or/ba-p/2858840

I am not sure you can meet exactly these requirements with Jira's out-of-the-box functionalities. If you are open to a marketplace solution, I recommend Mindpro Insights. I work at Mindpro, and I believe the app can help with this scenario.
It allows anyone to create and share dashboards with dynamic gadgets easily. It means when you click on a chart segment, the entire dashboard adapts to the filter. You can choose from over 50+ available.
There is an "Epic Progress" gadget that shows the information you are looking for. The gadget can be exported individually, or you can export the entire dashboard:
The issue list below the dashboard can also be exported in CSV if you prefer.
I hope that helps.

Eduardo

Hi @Melike Sevde Yildiz Welcome to the Atlassian Community
We're using plugin JXL to instantly see the epic progress you mention.
Kind regards,
