How can I let a non-jira-admin release a version?

The reason I need this, is to let a bash script, which uses the JIRA API, do releases, and I do not want to let my script user have admin-rights.

Thank you.

Hey Anders,

if I'm not missing something, the user only needs to have the "Administer Project" permission in order to release a version. This can be either done via assigning the user to a role that has this permission or simply adding the user to the permission in your permission scheme.

I hope this is what you're looking for.

Regards,
Philipp
