How can I manage permission for several groups inside the same project?

Ricardo Serrudo September 8, 2021

Hi, I have a project in Jira, in which several user groups have to work, but I need to each group sees only some issues. For register I created a automated rule to update customize field with specified value. But, how can to have permissions to see only some issues for specified groups?

Hello Ricardo and welcome to the community!

This is something that could be easily achieved by using a Jira Service Management project and using organizations.

But if this is for an internal project, it doesn't make much sense to do that.

My first question would be: Why do you need all these groups to work in the same project? Would it make sense to split the different groups into different projects?

Otherwise, the only solution would be the issue security, like Mayur suggested. But this would require that a group can see more than the other one, not that each group can only see its requests.

Cheers,
JT

Use Issue level security

Ricardo Serrudo September 8, 2021

Hi, I already used this, actually I created a security schema, but there I only found a way to restrict the complete project to a specified rule. However, as I said, I need to work with several groups, and each group must to see only their issues. this is possible?
