How can I report on linked tickets?

Our incidents are being managed in an independent project (i.e. not in individual team projects/workflows etc)

When managing incidents a number of continuous improvement tasks have been linked to the 'causing' incidents.

Is there a way to filter/report on tickets in a project with linked tickets?

I'd love to export and see how many incidents bore improvements within different sectors.

You can export Jira issue links to Excel with Better Excel Exporter for further analytics and reporting of linked issues.

The app comes with a dedicated template for this use case and produces an Excel export like this out of the box (can be customized):

If you export your Jira issue from Issue navigator to CSV/Excel then you will find a column called "Links" which is "Linked issues".

You can also use a JQL like this.

issue in linkedIssues("TMPS-7", blocks)

 There are some apps that can give you a visual report like Structure.

As @Ravi Sagar _Sparxsys_ mentioned, you can absolutely use Structure to view and report on linked tickets.

Structure allows users to visualize default parent-child relationships in Jira (for example :epic > story > sub-task), but its real power is in its ability and flexibility to visualize any other issue links between stories, tasks, and other issue types in an organization.

It also allows you to add any Jira field as a column, so that pull all your work together in one spreadsheet-like view (e.g. for release planning, backlog grooming, or in your case, reporting on "causing incidents").

Structure can also sum up values in any column that contains numeric values, like Story Points and Estimates. Here's Structure in action with a 5-level hierarchy that uses a "Linked Items" rule:

Issue Hierarchy Reports 

and generate insights such as:

- View the full Jira Issue Type hierarchy of Linked issues,
Portfolio/Advanced Roadmaps, Epics, and Subtasks up to 10 levels.

- % complete based on time spent and story points at each hierarchy level

- Sum up Time Spent, Org Estimate, Time Rmng, custom number
fields

The app allows you to add your custom fields on the report screen.
