How can I search if description is empty?

Emiliano Qaqi February 28, 2019

I have created around 300 issues and some of them do have and others don't have descriptions. How can I sort them to find the ones that do not have a description?

Thank you in advance.

If you search for issues and include "description" in the columns on the issue navigator results, you'll find you can sort by that, pulling empty descriptions to the top or bottom of the list.

To search for empty ones, look for "Description is empty" in the search

Hi @Emiliano Qaqi

Use:

description is EMPTY
  1. Go to issues (in menu) and select Search for Issues.
  2. Switch to advanced mode.
  3. Enter the above query.

This should give you all issues without description.

Good Answer but for wtv reason does not work with me because I am not that familiar with the query in Jira. Thank you
