We've been using Jira for quite some time, but are very new to reporting with it.
Here's our setup:
We have multiple projects, based on an actual chunk of work to be done (i.e. larger than a feature, but still something that will end at some point.)
We have multiple teams (a team contains multiple developers, a QA person, a project manager, and a business analyst.) Example teams are API Dev, Front-End Dev, Back-End Dev.
Each project can have multiple sprints (only one active at a time.) There can be a "Sprint ABC" (for example) in multiple projects (our sprints are usually named by start dates, so actually it would look more like Sprint 04_23_19.)
I know we can create a board that displays issues based on a filter, rather than on a single project, and that board will then display the individual sprints from each included project.
When we run a burndown on a board like that, it's split up by project.
So, here's the question: is there any way to define a team, and run burndown/velocity charts against a particular board that are then broken down by team?
Say I create a board that's based on a filter that pulls tickets from Project A and Project B. Each of these projects has a Sprint 04_23_19. There are tickets in each project that are assigned to members of each team.
Is it possible (or what is the best way) to view a report that will show me all of the work done in Sprint 04_23_19 across all projects that have a Sprint 04_23_19, broken down by team? (Even if it's just broken down by person, and we have to some manual collation, that would still be a start.)
We do have Portfolio, but it's a bit more than we have time for right now. I'm willing to look at add-ons, if there's a reporting add-on that will let me do this.
Hi, I was wondering if Atlassian has an enhancement in their backlog to do velocity reporting (filter) by team? We have the same need where we have 3 teams on one project/backlog and the velocity report shows all of the teams together. It would be nice if you could filter by team.

Hi @Esther Strom ,
You could measure the velocity and have a burndown chart for your teams by using our Great Gadgets add-on (available for both Jira Server and Jira Cloud).
It offers a "Kanban Velocity" and "Release Burndown Burnup" dashboard gadgets that are based on a filter / or dashboard. It also includes Sprint Budnown Chart and Team Velocity gadgets that are based on sprints.
You could create a filter for each team and then have a gadget configured to use the filters of your teams. These ways you have a dashboard that shows the burndown/velocity for each of your teams. Somethins like this:
Release Burndown Team A | Velocity Team A
Release Burndown Team B | Velocity Team B
Release Burndown Team C | Velocity Team C
....
More details about how to configure it can be found in the add-ons documentation:
