How can I see prior versions of a story in Jira

Deleted user August 16, 2021

Somehow, I've lost about 4 hours worth of edits to a Jira story. I looked at the "History", but it does not appear to show actual content, just a high level digest of changes. Where can I find the versions of the "body" of the story?

Hi @[deleted]

You can try the Issue History app developed by my team. You'll get a history journal for every activity and monitor all changes that have been made in the selected list of issues. All changes are visible (including summary and description fields).

Let me know if this helps or if you need some more info.

Hi @[deleted] -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

When you note "body" do you mean the Description field?

I believe the issue history shows the changes, albeit field by field as they are saved.  And I am not aware of a built-in function to show an entire issue at a point in time; there may be an addon app in the marketplace which can do this.

Best regards,
Bill
