I'm having trouble setting up sprints in Jira. I don't seem to have the option to set up sprints and 'schedule' items (version parameters).
I see at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GH/Adding+a+Version that there should be an option to 'Add Version', but this isn't listed for me.
Thanks.
While using the Planning Board, is by any chance you are having the 'Project Overview' selected (in the next combo-box to 'Planning Board'). The 'Add' option will be visible only if 'Version' is selected in this combo-box.
No, unfortunately - Version is selected. I think I'm going to try a local install, but I'd still like to understand the problem...

Are you able to create version directly in Jira for this project? (I mean not using Greenhopper) http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA040/Managing+Versions

I did find it in the end. Like many Jira settings, I flailed around for awhile before finding the right one. I really wish the UI were easier to crack, it's the one thing holding Jira back for me. Anyway, thanks for the help!

yes, I set up the project... I am also listed as an admin, unless I'm missing something.

Are sure that you are a project admin for the project that you are working on?
