How can I track changes to Priority Schemes in Jira Data Center?

Ric Cruz April 22, 2025

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to find out if there’s a way to track changes made to priority schemes in Jira Data Center (v9.12.4).

I’ve checked the Audit Logs in both the Project and System sections, but they don’t seem to capture any information related to priority scheme updates. I also haven’t found anything in the UI that indicates when or by whom changes were made.

Is there a way to query this through the database, logs, or any other method? If anyone has experience with this — even approximate queries or suggestions on where to look — I’d really appreciate your input.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Ric Cruz

In Audit Log page, click three dots -> Settings button.

In that page, you can change the coverage level. Priority related things should be under "Global configuration and administration" coverage area.

Please check this page for further info: Audit log events in Jira

Thanks, that’s really helpful – great to know for future reference. Unfortunately, for the current issue, the audit log coverage level was set to Base, so changes to priority schemes weren’t captured at the time.

In the meantime, I’m still looking for a way to retrieve any trace of the change through other means – possibly via the database or log files – but options seem quite limited once it's outside the audit log window.

Appreciate the help!
