While using Zephyr tool to import test cases to JIRA, all test cases got imported without issue description. There are 100+ test cases which i have to add manually,so is there any better way to import just the description from Excel to JIRA?
Hi @[deleted],
As far as I know, the Zephyr plug-in allows you to import description fields.
You can try to re-import the value of the description field after filling in the template, and delete the original test case after confirming that the description field was successfully imported.

Hi Ollie,
I know this method works but it failed. And even if the description gets added successfully second time deleting so many original test cases is also a huge task. Can you tell me if i can just import the description to original test cases only?
Thanks!!

Hi @[deleted] ,
You need to add the issue key in your csv file.
key,summary, description
PQR-12,your summary, your description
In that case issue PQR-12 gets updated. First try it on test instance.
Import CSV file from system admin -->external system import--> csv import
Thanks,
Prashant

Hi Prashant,
I already have the issue key in CSV file. And all test steps, name, labels, etc already has been imported to JIRA correctly except issue description.

Hi @[deleted] ,
ok. You can update existing issue fields with description. Try above workaround and map only three fields issue key, summary, description.
thanks,
Prashant
