Hello :)

Welcome to community :)

Please find details below

Import export issue data  of a project

- Please check this article : https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/import-and-export-your-data-to-and-from-jira-cloud/

Export projects

- We cannot directly export projects but their data as per the article shared

- You can check this community post for the same : https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Jira-questions/Copy-Projects-with-ticket-data/qaq-p/2546313

- One more way is take jira backup and import it to another site, More details here : https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/export-issues/#:~:text=automation%20rules.-,Create%20a%20backup%20for%20Jira%20Cloud,-To%20create%20a

- one more way is data copy feature : https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/copy-product-data/

Thank You,

Prachi

Hi @Eli Vazani ,

Welcome to Atlassian community.

It depends to what is the purpose of the export, like security backup, data analysis from other tools, ....

The easiest way is to use the out-of-the-box backup feature that generates a zip file: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/export-issues/

This exports doesn't include apps data, Assets and other things.

There are external product and apps that can help, but again, it depends to the objective.

Regards

Hi @Eli Vazani !

Unfortunately, Jira doesn't have a single option to export all project information, such as work items, comments, attachments, etc., in one click. However, you can try other ways. For example:

  • Export of work items and project data - you can use native Jira options and export such data in CSV, Excel, or JSON. This covers standard fields and basic data.
  • Export of work item change history - Jira’s built-in history is limited. In case you need a complete history of who changed what and when, including comments, Issue History for Jira (Work Item History) app from the SaaSJet team can help you create full exportable reports for audits, compliance checks, and project reviews. Here is an example of a report that you can create and export with Issue History for Jira app:

  • Export of attachments - they can be included in full Jira backups, or you can download them manually.

Here is an article that can be useful in your case: 5 Easy Methods to Export Work Items in Jira

Hope this info will be useful!
