In a project, if a particular task has an original hourly estimate, but is performed by 4 members how can we split the estimates among these in Time Reports to track their progress?

Hi @Priti Manapure

Welcome to the Community!

I agree with Bill, but also - If you have a task and it's supposed to take some time, I think it's either:

  1. A task that should take around that much time in total, regardless of who does what

    or
  2. A set of subtasks, each belonging to a separate individual, who should have their workload estimated separately on the subtask level.

I like to remind myself that original estimate is just that - an estimate. It's to show how much time we think a task will take the first time we look at it. We can accept a more or less detailed approach as to what we want to estimate, but we shouldn't adjust the original estimate at any point once it's set - it loses its function then, which is to rate our ability to estimate workload when work is first commissioned/appointed.

All the best to you in your project management adventure :)

Hi @Priti Manapure -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Wouldn't the individuals doing the work log time as they perform the work?  That would manage splitting the time for tracking, and handle situations where one person's tasks are larger than others for tracking.

Kind regards,
Bill
