How can you make a field required in the new next-gen projects?

Hi everyone,

I can't seem to locate how to make a field required in the new next-gen projects. I saw this was on their public roadmap. Has this been scrapped?

I know this is annoying that this isn't available for Jira Software. It has been released to Jira Service Desk but there is extra work that is required on the board to make this feature work with inline issue creation. This work will be a little while off but I will update you as soon as I have more information.

Please go and vote on the ticket, so that your need for this feature bubbles up in priority for team that will be unblocking this feature.

The team blocking this feature obviously has no interface with customers nor understanding of how important it is to manage workflows. Required fields help manage workflows and without you should not have released the next-gen projects at all.

Currently, it's not possible to set a field as required for next-gen projects. We have a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:

What's the point? This issue has been on the Road Map for 2 years or longer with no progress.
