How come I can not get the Rich Text Editor to show up on my multi-line custom field?

Raisa MacLeod October 6, 2020

I created two new multi-line custom fields as Text Field multi-line.  On the issue screen the Rich text editor does not show up, nor does the description show up.

Here are the custom fields:

Hi @Raisa MacLeod ,

  • You must change the renderer to Wiki renderer.

Go to the field configuration --> new Text field that you have created -- > renderers.

You can change the renderer type from default text to Wiki renderer.

Can you change this as a default or do you have ot change this in every field config for every field you need?

Is this available for Cloud hosting ?

Yes, may be late for you, but useful for othres:

  1. Go to Jira admin panel
  2. Go to Fields > Field configuration
  3. Select the project's field configuration
  4. On the "Actions" column, select Renderers
  5. Then select the "wiki renderer"

Thank you that worked.  There was an additional step.  First you need to go to Field configuration schemes to add a scheme.
