How do I add a custom field into the clone issue screen?

Is there a way I can add a required field to this screen this when cloning an issue? Specifically, Due Date. I want it to appear here much like summary does instead of having to set up automation to map the fields.

No, that is not possible with the native Clone Issue function.

If you are using the system/native Due date field provided by Jira as a Global custom field then that data should automatically be copied into the issue created by cloning.

If you to be able to change the Due date field as part of the Clone operation, an alternative would be to set up a manually triggered Automation Rule for cloning issues, and add a User Input prompt requesting the new Due date value.

There are third party apps that offer more capabilities around cloning issues, if you are willing to consider a third party app.

Jira's native functionality does not support this feature. However, you can achieve this and much more using our app Deep Clone for Jira.

With Deep Clone, you can:

• Add and modify fields, including custom fields, during the cloning process with the Field Editor feature.
• Clone multiple issues, sub-tasks, and their relationships in bulk.

This app simplifies cloning, eliminating the need for complex automation rules.

There is no native feature within Jira to customize the clone issue screen. You can give a try with third party plugins.
