How do I archive an epic from the roadmap?

I have put the status of my epic into "Done" and they have disappeared from the backlog but not from my roadmap. Which means I have a list of 20 epics in my roadmap that are just sitting in done since February.

I don't want to delete them as I want to keep the Jira data, I simply just want to archive them like you can with Issues.

Some issues aren't completed - but I don't want to remove those from the epic I just want everything (even if it's in progress/to-do/incompleted in that month) for it to disappear and be archived.

I had the same issue, since closing the epics didn't remove them from our backlog.

Epics have their own "Marked as done" state (can't understand why), which you can set on the backlog.

  1. Navigate to your backlog.
  2. Select the Epic tab on the left.
  3. Select the dropdown arrow and choose "Mark as Done".
  4. Now the epic is done and does not appear on the roadmap.

One of the downsides of this solution is that the epics are removed from your views, so the only way to find closed epics is by searching for them.
