How do I as Admin of a Project be able to update some non-required fields of a closed issue

I am admin of a project and would like to update some non-required fields of some issues that are currently closed. I do not want to reopen each item to make the updates and then reclose them.

How do I grant someone edit access to a closed item?

You can't, directly. The flag really does mean "closed, do not edit"

You can edit the workflow quickly though - either

1. REmove the do-not-edit flag, make your edits, then put it back (bear in mind, while it's off, anyone who can edit in the project will be able to edit)

2. Put in a looped transition - from closed to closed. Make it go through a transition screen that has all your edit fields on it. Put conditions on it like "only project admins".

Thank you - I did option 1 above and it worked and now locked it back down again.
