How do I change the board background when I am already the project admin?

I am a project admin of a software project and cannot change the background of the board. The paint brush symbol does not appear next to the board name.

For Jira software projects we don't have the ability to change the background colors. please find the feature request : https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-76992

The link you shared refers to JWM  ( jira work management ) Business projects and we can change in JWM
