I want created issues to arrive at a status other than "open". "Edit transition" is greyed out on the cog of the create issue transition (as is "delete transistion" and "view conditions"). And if I try to add another transition from create issue, I get " You cannot add a transition to or from the initial action [Create] of a workflow." Do I need a special plug in to do this or maybe my version is too old. I'm on 5.0.2
Thanks! Text based editor worked like a charm.

I think this is a bug. It is resolved in version 5.03.

I was having problems with the flash based editor. Try the text based editor, there you should be able to change the destination step..

There is no way to add a second transition from "create" - there's nothing there to hang it on.
You've got the right idea first time - you simply need to edit the actual create transition - you will be able to change it to any step you want in the rest of the workflow.
However, as that's greyed out, I suspect that you've hit one of two things - either you're trying to edit the default workflow (you can't) or you're trying to edit a workflow that is actively used by a project (which you can't in some cases). In both of these cases, make a copy of the workflow and try that - you should find edit transition then works.

It is not the default workflow nor is it active yet. I can easily edit the other transitions in the workflow, just not the create issue transition.

Hmm, that's odd. Are you using the text based workflow editor, or the diagram one? Could you try the other?
