I'm a test manager for a company that recently moved from ALM/Quality Center to JIra and I'm struggling to find out how to pull the same metrics in Jira that I could in QC:
1. Daily execution progress- I want to be able to see how many tests my team executed each day.
2. I want to be able to see how many tests each individual tester executed per day.
3. Why does the Test Execution Burndown chart not show the total number of test cases? Is this report supposed to show all tests or just the unexecuted ones? Either way, the number in the report is wrong.
Really hoping someone can help me to find the answers to these questions because so far Jira is killing me!
Hi Alan,
Please check out synapseRT: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/15711/synapsert-test-management-for-jira?hosting=server&tab=overview
It covers all features you asked in your post.
Besides such reports, it also connects requirements and test cases, you can do traceability with a super easy way by the tool

Hi @[deleted] - I am also from the test side. simply moving to jira is not the solution. Jira out of the box is not a test management application. Therefore, you wouldn't have the tools you would usually get from a test management application. You are probably searching for things that are simply not there.
There's plugins for test management like Zephyr or X-ray that provides test management capabilities on top of Jira.
I prefer to have a dedicated test management server like test link or test rail which I integrate with Jira.
