How do I copy changes from Jira Server.XML file post upgrade?

Hi all - I finally upgraded on on prem version of Jira from 8.1 to 8.20.

I'm running into the issue where I need to update my changes from the old server.xml file to the new one.

I can run a difference checker on it, but it seems like there is a lot missing in the new compared to the old.  Is there an easy way to import the changes and not break the current formatting it needs?  Or am I overthinking this? 

Any tips or success stories greatly appreciated.

Yea I think you're overthinking it a little bit. I usually just copy the modifications from the old file into the new one manually. I don't know how many modifications you have made, but for me I think I update like one section when I do updates.

Thanks Tim that worked. We had quite a few old sections in our config that had me tripped up.
