How do I create a custom field that will have user selection identical to the Assignee field

Hi, I would like to create a custom field that will practically act the same as Assignee field does by default. Please let me know if that is possible in the latest Cloud version of JIRA.

Hello Velijko,

The Assignee Field is a Customized System Field and there is not a Field type Identical to the behavior of assignee.  The Closest thing you can use is a User Picker single select Custom field type, some details on this can be seen here:

There is also the following Feature Request to add in the User avatar on the custom user picker field to make if behave more like the assignee field:

There are add-ons such as Custom User Pickers available in the Jira Sever Platform, but I am not aware of any available in Cloud
