Hi everyone,
I have a custom issue type, that connects to another issue type via the "Parent Link". This looks to work well, but I'm unsure how to make it appear on "Jira Structure".
The custom issue type appears as I'm using a JQL to show it (insert), I then extend using "linked by parent-child" "is a child of or a parent of" link. But unfortunately it doesn't show.
I does look to work alright in Jira Advanced Roadmap so I think its linked correctly.
Thanks!
Hi, @John Elder. I think @Calvin is talking about Structure by Tempo in this case.
Calvin: If you're patient, someone here on the community will almost certainly come in with the right answer one day soon.
But if you'd prefer a speedier answer, I suggest reaching out to the Structure support team directly.
Hope this helps,
-dave
Thanks mate, accepting this as the answer as I didn't realise there was a support team for Structure specifically. Cheers!
For anyone who run into the same issue, what I did is use the "Insert" to provide a filter for the custom type. Then set up the hierarchy appropriately in Jira Advanced Roadmaps (Plans) and then in Structure I used "Extend" Using Child Issues from "Advanced Roadmaps".

To my knowledge, custom issue types are not currently "allowed" in the official Jira structure/hierarchy. Advanced Roadmaps has it's own hierarchy, which is why things like Features and Initiatives work well there, and the "Parent Link" field is so helpful for queries and such... but in terms of the official Jira hierarchy, I don't believe custom issue types can be inserted... at this time.
