The built-in "Excel CSV" export option works okay, although importing the plain text CSV to Excel may require some clean-up work.

If using an app is an option for you, then the Better Excel Exporter app can produce native Excel field (XLSX file format) with literally two clicks:

Welcome to the community!

Here's a quick way of exporting issues directly to Excel:

1. Go to "Filters" in the top navigation bar of Jira.
2. Select "View all issues".
3. Click the "Export issues" button above the issue list.
4. Choose one of the "Excel CSV" options.
