How do I export Users, Roles and Groups from Rally to JIRA?

If i want to move from Rally to JIRA. 

1) How do I migrate the meta data like "users/roles" etc, from Rally to  JIRA ?

2) How do i migrate the data from Rally to JIRA

3) Will there any API's from JIRA to support this?

Hello, 

Natively in Jira for Rally data imports, the CSV import option is the only method possible at this time as covered in:

• Importing data from Rally

However when importing the data Via CSV new users will be created but the user's Group mappings will not be included in that data, and would be a manual rearrangement jira side post import.

There are some Migration Tools listed on the KB above that are dedicated Rally to JIRA migration tools that may have this capability built in and I would recommend checking them out to see if they will include the User/Group data in the migration:

• Rally to Jira Enterprise Migration Tool from cPrimeLabs
• Jira Connector for ConnectALL from Go2Group
• agosense.symphony from agosense GMBH

Some alternatives here would be to use another tool such as CSV User Importer for Jira  or the Bob Swift CLI tool (as described In this Community post), that would allow you to use a CSV with the users data only, to get this info in place and then import the Rally data after the users are all created and associated to the correct groups.
