I have a company-managed board that I am administrator of. I want the kanban board to be grouped by component. How can I do that easily?

Hi @Anjali_Sridhar

You should be able to create a simple swimlane in the board's configuration based on the JQL like "component=Intranet". For example:

However with the introduction of a new Compass (software component),

I've seen some flaky behaviour on some of our test instances. Like swimlanes would work for Epics but not for queries. UI for grouping also varies based on what update your instance is on now.

Hello @Anjali_Sridhar

The "group by" option is also referred to as Swimlanes in agile boards.

Boards have a set of pre-built swimlane options such as Epics and Stories. There is not one for Components.

You would need to use the Queries option and built a swimlane for each Component value using JQL.
